Official ONS data on public sector employment has confirmed a mixed picture across different regions and sectors. This is consistent with the REC’s Report on Jobs data which shows that expenditure cuts are starting to impact on employment opportunities in the public sector.

The REC has been invited to this evening’s roundtable meeting with the Immigration Minister, Damian Green. The Minister will be outlining the Governments plans for future immigration policy and inviting feedback from major business organisations and other interested parties.

Hamish Pringle, Director General of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) will be addressing members of the REC’s Marketing, Media and Creative (MMC) sector group at their next meeting.

Member input will drive the next phase of the REC’s Public Sector Resourcing campaign. A specific survey, sent out this week, will gauge what is happening on the ground with public sector staffing and will feed into the REC’s messages to politicians and procurement bodies.

After 12 years of service, Fiona Coombe, the REC’s Director of Professional Services, will be leaving the organisation this month to pursue other interests.
