The Institute of Recruitment Professionals’ (IRP) Awards, now in their second year, are set against the backcloth of recruitment, one of the UK’s most vibrant industries, with nearly 100,000 employees and 14,000 businesses, and now worth over £22 billion annually to the economy.

Figures released today by the Office for National Statistics have shown a slight drop in the number of people out of work. Between March and May, the number fell by 34,000 to 2.47 million.
