McLaren Electronics announces KERS technical partner

McLaren Electronic Systems, which is part of the Woking, UK based McLaren Group that also includes the McLaren Mercedes Formula One team, has confirmed that it has entered into a ‘a collaborative initiative’ with the American automotive electronics company Freescale to develop ‘next-generation kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) technology for the highest levels of motor racing from 2010 onward.’

The 2008 World Motorsport Symposium Awards for the Racecar Aerodynamicist of the Year and the Race Engine Designer of the Year, presented by the UK published Race Tech magazine, have been won by Dialma Zinelli, the head of aerodynamics at Dallara Automobili and Thomas Laudenbach, the head of motorsport powertrain at Porsche AG.
